Payer, known for its unique platform for B2B invoicing and payments, today announces strong performance following the restructuring of its business, platform, IP, and brand under new ownership in May 2024. The restart has attracted media attention, including coverage in Di Digital.
The global economic downturn in 2023–2024 created challenges for the previous ownership structure to secure the funding required for continued expansion. To ensure the platform’s long-term stability and development, the operations were acquired by a new company in May 2024. Key members of the original team continued on to ensure service continuity and uninterrupted customer delivery.

Looking Ahead

Payer will continue to lead the automation of B2B invoicing and B2B payments, eliminating manual workflows and enabling new business models for companies operating in business-to-business sales. In the near term, Payer will strengthen its presence in modern business models, particularly within the sharing economy—such as in the real estate sector, where Vasakronan is a long-term customer.

Customer Trust Was Key to the Restart

One of the most important drivers behind Payer’s successful restart has been the unwavering trust from its customers. A majority renewed their contracts during the transition, reinforcing confidence in the platform, the new ownership, and the team. Payer’s ability to deliver without disruption before, during, and after the restart has further proven its operational strength and long-term resilience.

Strong First Fiscal Year with Near Profitability

As of the fiscal year-end 2024, new Payer entity reported rapid revenue growth with low burn and near profitability during its first shortened fiscal year. Net sales reached approximately SEK 900,000 over eight months, with about 85% consisting of recurring monthly revenue. Estimated net income, including non-cash depreciation, came in at around SEK -300,000.

New Partnerships Launching in 2025

Since the restart, Payer has signed several strategic partnerships to support its transition from direct sales to a partner-based go-to-market model. These partnerships are set to roll out during 2025, contributing to revenue growth and expanding Payer’s reach.

New Funding Secures Growth Trajectory

Payer’s strong rebound, positive performance indicators, and continued trust from high-profile brands and partners also attracted several experienced and successful entrepreneurs as new investors at the end of the year. To support future growth, Payer recently closed a successful capital raise of SEK 3 million. Notable participants include Bengt Nilsson (founder of IFS and Pagero), Lennart Boestad (CEO at Greentrade), Hans von Knorring (founder of Lumera), Olof Larsson (founder of IT-HUSET), and Håkan Nilsson (founder of Zinnovate).

“With this lineup, we’re well positioned to continue creating long-term value for our customers,” says Peder Berge, Co-founder of Payer. “The trust we’ve received from both customers and investors—especially in challenging times—is incredibly motivating and confirms that we’re on the right path.”
